In this 'Now & Then', take a trip back from the present day to the 1920's! The view shown is of Colham Bridge, Yiewsley, looking in the direction of West Drayton. Johnson's Wax took up residence at the Colham Wharf building (originally constructed in 1796) in 1919. Colham Wharf was subsequently replaced by Harrier House which has since beeen replaced by the current Drayton Wharf (constructed 2016) which is a block of residential flats with commercial premises below. The bridge over the canal pictured in the 1920's photo was re-built in 1938/1939 as part of a road widening scheme.
