Here's a photo taken this afternoon showing the view looking towards the Railway Arms and the railway bridge itself on Station Road... compared to the same view in roughly 1950. As you can see, the Railway Arms has changed very little indeed (largely because it's a Grade II listed building). You can also see that the bridge has been replaced. The old one was demolished in the 1960's and replaced with the current one which was recently spruced up by Hillingdon Council in partnership with Crossrail. You will notice an advert on the bridge for 'Pratts' on Long Lane in Hillingdon, who were specialists in motor insurance and a very successful local company in their time who were eventually bought out by a larger insurance broker. Oh yes and lastly, once again, the cars have changed quite a bit!
