In this Now & Then we see a comparison of modern day Swan Road vs Swan Road in 1931. The view is taken looking in the direction of Station Road from outside the entrance to Osprey Close. You can see the local baker M.E. Rumble's horse-drawn van on the right in the 1931 photo. He traded from a shop further down the road (same location as the current baker on The Green) throughout most of the 20th Century. You can also see that many of the houses remain the same, with the exception of the distant bungalows which have been replaced by two blocks of flats. There are also a lot more trees now!
